MY HAT COMES OFF TO ALL OF THE POLICE AND FIRE PERSONNEL THAT REPRESENTED THEIR RESPECTIVE DEPARTMENTS THIS PAST MONDAY EVENING AT EAST ORANGE CITY HALL. I HOPE THIS WAS NOT A ONE TIME EVENT. KEEP THE PRESSURE ON AND EVENTUALLY SOMEONE WILL WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE. IF THE MAYOR WON'T
COME TO YOU , YOU HAVE TO GO TO HIM!
Hi LT! It's your #1 fan checking in on your new Website; plus reading the great articles of the East Orange Police Dept. As usual...EXCELLENT!
One suggestion: The music for the "Sign In Guest Book", "Give me a TICKET for an Airplane" well,,,,the word TICKET gets me really NERVOUS. ;)
Hi Chief Grimes....You really do have a great crew there!
Be safe!!!
Rissa
I was born and raised in E.O. My father was a EO Policeman (John D'Amore) from 1946 to 1977. He was a member of PBA - also it's President for a few years. I was very proud of him. He died May 19, 1999. I was and still am very proud of him. He was a great man. I miss the great times we all had in that great city. Thank you, Grace D'Amore Campanaro
To my brothers and sisters of the East Orange Police Department: It has been an honor and (occasionally) a pleasure working with you. As I move on to greener pastures I wish you all the best of luck and God's blessings. These past two and a half years have been bittersweet at best, but I'll never forget all that I've learned. Y'know ... I wonder which one of you is going to replace me in S.C.A.T. I've seen and heard a lotta' people talk a lotta' smack, but let's call a spade a spade ... Y'all know y'all
want to be down!! In all seriousness, I wish you all God's blessings and the best of luck.
Holler' at me when the retro checks are ready!! Farewell!
I am interested in joining the police force and I would like to learn more information about it. I am a veteran of the Armed Forces. Would this help me in any way? Thank you.

Lt. , beautiful site . your dedication to the building of this site should serve as an example to all in the field to continue to strive to maintain the utmost in professional standard , even when the politicians of the people we've sworn to protect and serve don't seem to care if we or our families live or die. People of the state and of the city may not see it , but I constantly see officers give of
their selves everyday , to achieve a professional objective . EOPD , your works do not go unnoticed . Heads up , and HANDLE !!!
Kudos to the site but most of all to the brother & sister officers of the EOPD. We @ the
EDC feel your pain and encourage you to press on for your contributions don't
go unnoticed. As for former EDC officers Gordon, Adams, Ausby, Higgs, and Pasture I salute you and hope to serve next to you in the near future. Chief Grimes keep up the good work and may all the officers of the EOPD be
shielded by the lords good graces. Be safe & may God bless you all
You know it's kind of sad situation when the Montclair Police receives all that press for being without a CONTRACT for one year. East Orange should received Global Press, CNBC, FOX News, CNN, and all he local stations for being without a CONTRACT for close to FOUR (4) years. What's up with the UNIONS or does
anyone really care. SAD
To all East Orange Police officers keep up the great work. I know it sucks to be the lowest paid Police Department in northern NJ. The job you do is really appreciated by the citizens of East Orange. The Mayor better get with the program, How many more officers will he watch leave the East Orange Police Dept in search of greener pastures. It's a shame that
you contract issue is in the state that it is. It would be great to have a Mayor who stood in support of our police and fire departments. I feel your pain officers, If some one was willing to pay me more money and at least acted as if they were in my corner I would be ghost too. For those of you that hang around good luck and stay strong we got your back..
Your website is
fantastic! One of your officers assisted me last week, did not get his name, but
his badge number was #157. He was very professional and extremely handsome.
Gene you have outdone yourself this time. This site is much better than the last, and that one was on the money. I can't believe you did this so well, it makes me proud to be a member of this department and a friend of yours. Excellent work again I'm very proud of you and your work......Craig..
Thanks for adding the communications unit and record bureau to the site (it's contained within the Patrol Division
page) I did notice there was one obvious photo opportunity omission, namely yours. What's up with that? Anyway, good job as usual and tell AF to wake up (or look
up) next time your going to take her picture. See ya soon!
Bravo.... One of the best cop sites I encountered on the internet.
Congratulations to Police Chief Grimes on a super presentation of your police department....keep up the good work!
As I was saying, I'm from Edmonton Alberta Canada. I am 21 years old and I am currently attending Grant MacEwan college. The program I'm
taking is called the police/Security program. I am learning about tactical communications, community
protection, criminalities, law enforcement, forensic evidence, and organized crime. After I get my diploma I wish to look south of the border for a career. Just looking for police departments in the United States, that will take on a
Canadian applicant.
I have been a resident here since 1997. Although there is much work to be done, I believe the department is making great strides to improving both the service and the community. If only city hall were as willing.
Outstanding Web-Site!!!!! As a member of the Marine Corps League, I feel that your wed-site shows a great deal of respect to the community and the law
enforcement world.
Hey Burt, you've
outdone yourself again. I really like what you've done to the site, I guess you have room for R&I now. I just want to know how come you weren't in the picture? Anyway, congratulations on a job well done and keep up the good work. Oh yeah one more question, how did you get Rose Wilson to smile?
Your new Website is FANTASTIC! I look forward to seeing your next creation! It's like reading a great book....you can't wait for the sequel. It gets better and better. Chief Grimes...you must be very proud of the men and women of the East Orange Police Dept. God Bless you and the E.O.P.D. staff.
The new EOPD website is super!! The previous website was great but
this site is fantastic. WebPages load faster and appear extra clear and compact. Images/photo's are
crisp (crystal-clear) than before and navigation is simple and easy. But the main reason for me is the information supplied..
"very informative". Best of luck on a super job and hats off to the East Orange Police Department.
I just wanted to know what was going on with the department back home. :) Wonderful website with lots of good information. God Bless all of the men of women who try to keep our streets safe Hoooaaahh!!
Congratulations! After surfing in, I found a very attractive Homepage that I can really recommend.
Many greetings from Germany,

I would like to congratulate the EOPD on winning the MPD Explorers Website Design Award 2002. The site is well designed for ease of navigation and the gaining of information about EOPD. Congratulations on a job well done.
Thanks for signing my
Guestbook. I enjoyed the visit on your site. It was very interesting.
Stay safe and God bless America,
Specially greetings from Switzerland,

After surfing this
website/Guestbook and reading visitor's comments I cannot help feeling sorrow/pity for Mr. Suggs the disabled veteran who has no means of communications other than his computer. May I suggest getting a phone hooked up to your line in
lieu of the 56k modem and your service with AOL. I think a phone is more important to you especially in a emergency situation.
I was browsing the web and came
across this website. I am from E.O. and remember the "good old days" when you could actually go out at night without fear. I still read the star-ledger everyday and keep up with your local news, and am sometimes
horrified as to what I read about going on in E.O. You have an excellent website and the music is awesome. I will continue to visit, now that I have found it.
Great website. Interactive and informative. Keep my cousins safe while on duty, they have families. Officers Georges Destin, Sr., and Michael Wynn. Please patrol 4th Avenue a little more. Keep up the good work and the presence in the community.
GREAT WEBPAGE I ASK THOSE WHO VISIT I AM A RETIRED POLICE OFFICER I RETIRED WITH A
DISABILITY I FOUND OUT THAT ONCE YOU RETIRE YOU LOSE ALL CONTACT WITH THE OFFICERS
SERVED WITH HOW IS THAT I AM A VIETNAM VETERAN, RETIRED MARINE 22 YEARS. IF YOU HAVE THE TIME PLEASE RESPOND BACK TO ME.
Your web site is outstanding. I have enjoyed visiting it. I am not from N.J. but I
appreciate the job all Police Officers do every day for all citizens. God bless you all.
Involved in the movie
industry animation supervisor, I must say this site is very impressive. The graphics are
crisp/clear and the music seems to blend in with the
appropriate web pages. Best of all the information supplied is very informative
and educational. Must admit it was a learning experience surfing this police
website. I salute your Chief on a job well
done and please keep up the excellent work educating the general public and
novices like me.
I am a mother of three and have always been interested in education especially in the education and safety of the children. I am also a student at Essex County College and want to keep up with new developments in my community.
Thank You,
Sonia R. Caldwell
Nice Site but where is the School Squad Unit, that the East Orange Police Department has recently started. This unit will help create a safe environment for our children so that they can learn without being distracted.
BARRY......I AM SO VERY PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU AND E.O.P.D. HAVE DONE FOR OUR COMMUNITY. HOLD YOUR HEADS HIGH AND KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK. I LOVE YOU.... GOD BLESS YOU!
One of the best police sites I've seen on the internet, very informative! I salute your department for knitting your agency and the citizens closer together, by sharing police information over the world wide web.
Great website and very informative! I think you should add a police car on the front page. Our company manufactures in car video, radar, speed monitoring trailers and laser.

This website is informative and shows that the creator of the website took his time and initiative. The site provides informative news and is good information for the citizens of East Orange. Also the link to the A.G. Guidelines is very helpful to the Officers of the East Orange Police Department and our other brother agencies.
Anyone with information on the history of the East Orange City Police
Department, Early Photo's, news clipping, Badge , Patch , or reports please contact me at above
address.

BRAVO!!! EXCELLENT WEBSITE!
My original reason for visiting this website was to find a friend who was arrested on July 23 or 24. His Mom is very worried about him because she can not find him; so I thought I would help by checking your website. Well, was I impressed! I got myself so involved with all the websites great information, great resources, and
connections to all other areas. I completely forgot my main reason for being here! Compliments to the Web designer, East Orange Commander and the East Orange Police Dept.
So being I spent most of my time surfing your website; if there is anyway you can help me locate my friend, please feel free to e-mail me at my address. I called every facility in NJ; no luck :(
Thank You and again "EXCELLENT WEBSITE"
Respectively,
Marisa Anderson
This website should have photographs of the department's precinct and patrol cars. On the good side the information provided is very good, graphics are excellent and the music is fantastic. Keep up the fine work keeping the citizens in your community well informed about the complexity of police infrastructure.... And Stay Safe!

In reference to my retirement from EOPD, I would like to get in touch with your EOPD-FOP President in reference to a personal matter of great importance to me. He can get in touch with me at any time.
We respect the opinions of all but to have a member of the E.O.P.D. go on national T.V.and bastardize the actions of a California Police Officer without the investigation completed is a dishonor to this profession. Does your Officer know what the term "Due Process" means? or is his only motive for those outrageous remarks racially
motivated! If our Officer is guilty or innocent let him be tried in a Court Of Law not on National
TV. by people with their own agendas.
Who is the DeLancy guy posing with Louis Farrakhan on tv , that claims to be an officer with your agency and goes on national media under EOPD's name blasting Los Angeles area officers before there's even an investigation!!!!
Get a load of this! Not only did the East Orange Fire Department get a ridiculous offer for a
raise (while the Mayor and cronies received a generous raise), but the police department
who's officers are without a raise for three years ARE NOW LOSING THEIR
RIGHT TO WORK PART-TIME JOBS MOONLIGHTING. I guess those who serve and protect don't have a right to try and take care of their families like everybody else. Come on Mr. Mayor and administration how much more can you keep kicking these men and women, they are already down but evidently not out as they continue to do their
job regardless of the conditions they are asked to perform under. Now I'm not saying that the mayor or anyone else does not deserve a raise but come on, let's be fair. God Bless those strong men and women in the police and fire departments who somehow manage to go on. Not only do they have to fight fires and crimes but also City Hall.
Thank GOD Officer Allman is alive and doing well, stay strong brother. If the Mayor of East Orange would take his head out of his
(censored) and look around he would see that good officers are leaving
-- Why ??? "CONTRACT" but he can get a raise something is wrong with this picture.
You know, I really do think it is a damn shame that a police officer (Michael Allman) gets shot and doesn't even get acknowledged by the
Mayor Robert Bowser of the city he is sworn to protect and could have lost his life for. I have never seen such total disrespect and ignorance displayed in any other city. But I guess if the mayor did his job and saw that police and fire got raises, like he does for himself, officers would not have to moonlight.
If brother Allman was making a decent pay in
this crime ridden City, He would NOT be working part time and he would NOT
have gotten shot. It is what it is!!! a decent CONTRACT
I am proud to be a part of the Street Crime Assertion Team (S.C.A.T.). I was born and raised in East Orange & over the years I've seen the good people of our city lose the streets to a bunch of fake, thug wannabe's.
S.C.A.T. is here to take those streets back and return them to the good, decent & honest people they rightfully belong to.
For those of you whom we stop along the way - be you good or dirty ... don't get mad, it's just business - nothing personal.
If we catch you doin' dirt don't get mad at us ... you stay doing your dirt, and we'll stay doing our job.
So with that being said ... LET THE GAMES CONTINUE!
As a gay man it's great to be living in the San Francisco Bay area where you are not
harassed by the police. Most officers on the force are either gay or bisexual and have compassion for the gay community. When I was assaulted, the police apprehended the girl and she was prosecuted. Hope the East Orange Police protects it's gay & lesbian citizens like your departments mission statement indicates. I salute your department for taking a stand on protecting the right's of ALL. Take care, God Bless and may he protect your police department from the savages and criminals.
The opening theme song can only mean that one person is responsible for this web-site. Good job, Gene. Then again, you always do a good job.

Watching the news on a cable channel and learned an East Orange Cop was shot. Just wanted to let your department know that my thoughts and prayers are with the officer and his family. Cities located on the east cost of the US are very dangerous for police officers. You guys risk your lives more often and are probably paid the least compared to smaller towns. We have our problems in Green Bay but not on the scale as New
Jersey and New York. God Bless you all and hope the officer is going to be OK.
Proud citizen of the city who just wants to thank you men and women in uniform for doing your best to protect us. You can't deter every situation, but your efforts are much appreciated! Snatch these babies up now and hopefully you can turn them into the decent young men and women they were born to be.
I WAS BORN AND LIVED IN NEW JERSEY BUT, LEFT SHORTLY AFTER MY MOTHER'S HOMICIDE IN 1975(JANE WEAVER). THE NEW JERSEY POLICE WERE GREAT TO MY SISTER AND MYSELF AT THE TIME THANK YOU FOR BEING SO HELPFUL AND KIND TO TWO LITTLE GIRLS WHO REALLY NEEDED IT!
Ex-cop from New Orleans PD (The Big
Easy) in the 90's, got caught up in the drugs, fast money and all the other corruption that went on in the department. Spent the rest of my 7 year career in prison along with 14 other officers. Paid my debt and all the embarrassment that went with it but still having a hard time coping and deservedly so. Moral of the story make damm sure you know what side of the fence your on before you decide to become a cop. You may find yourself looking out of a fence with barbed wire, someone's bitch, physical and mental
assaults and constant tormenting for a long long time! You can pay the price now or you can pay the price later... you be the judge.
Employed by PSE&G (the energy company) was surfing on my break and came across the EOPD website. I must say the information supplied in this site is incredible to say the least. Your information on domestic violence should be read by every female in the state and the country. I never imagined those very important signs or clues that can eventually lead to spousal or dating abuse. My guard is now up thanks to your department and I hope with the knowledge gained, I will not fall prey or be lead down the (beaten) path of domestic violence.
Even though the kids now use the word and it hasn't been current for me since "back in the day," this site is COOL! WAY COOL! I don't know who designed it and I just recently finished a year of study in the area of Web Development, I am impressed! It motivates me. The music is great! It sets the pace when you're reading the text. Each page has a different song. I recognized a lot of the songs belonged to certain cop shows that I used to watch religiously. The graphics are provocative! The information is useful. You REALLY, REALLY should do a bit of PR about your site. Why, no one (well, maybe not "no one") knows it's here. This site has only be visited 1,376 times and that includes me. If you need a PR person, I'm available. Great show! My hat's off to you! And for the officers who are protecting the city I live in, thank you. Please tell them all. It's a tough job but somebody's
got' a do it. Have a blessed day!
After all the shootings and drug dealing's on Amherst St during the past years, I can
definitely see the sweeping difference in this activity since the SCAT division was created. Our neighborhood
was given back to the homeowners (tax payers) and the children of this city. My family can now venture outside
the confines of our home and enjoy a breath of fresh air. Many thanks to Chief Grimes and the men & women of the East Orange Police Department for
recapturing our streets and neighborhood from the criminals that preyed among us.
Just became a police officer in a small town 15 miles from my home town of
Omaha, Nebraska. Wanted to let you know I learned a lot by reading your website relating to situations
I experienced on the job. Thank you for having a informative website, keep up the good work and
grateful for your department's leadership in this field.
Mr. DON'T WATCH
NUTIN: Your incredible stupid comment only reflects your intelligence or lack of it. Your IQ (if you have any) must be down in the lower 20's and that is a gift. I would guess you are a person of very low esteem, no respect for yourself or authority. By the nature of your ridiculous comment you are most likely a person of immoral turpitude, a common street thug, constantly ingests drugs or alcohol or a disgruntled law enforcement officer who has no clue. Save your stupid remarks for your cohorts if you have any?
Good website Chief Grimes very informative, loaded with information and services your police department provides to its citizens. It's my opinion all police departments in this country should follow your lead and go that extra mile for the citizens they are sworn to protect and serve. Your example should be the role model for other law enforcement executives to follow. Good luck!
I think the S.C.A.T. unit was a great idea by the Chief. I know for a fact being in patrol the
S.C.A.T. unit has made my patrol duties easier by adding more time to patrolling my zone and responding to calls from citizens in a more timely fashion. Great Idea!!!!!
Want to clean up
E.O bring back the task force with Hightower, Benson, Spike, Geronimo,
Cochise, The Lady Cop, Bunky, Big Steve, & Garvin. These street punks & gangs today don't know what it was to be arrested by the task force because they have no respect for the cops today.
Believe me they changed my life in a big way.
Hats off to Chief Charles Grimes for creating the S.C.A.T. unit. It has taken a tremendous burden off the patrol division which now can serve the citizens of East Orange more efficiently.
Our citizens group can see the difference in the level of street crime since
the units inception. Another great concept from the Chief of Police.... all the citizens of East Orange thank
you, keep up the great work and your leadership!
Very good police website, has loads of
informative information pertaining to divisions within the department and excellent general information about laws that can effect all of us. Keep up the good work!
the traffic division should be given more recognition for deed they do with the children at their sporting events etc..... just because they wore uniforms. the personalities polite and firm.
I was just told by two tenants that those drug dealers from the corner of South Clinton St. and Central Avenue are on the corner shooting guns. The one tenant just went to move his car. Also, they saw a couple of guys going in the back of the condos next door to our building at 170 S. Clinton St. with screw drivers and other
burglary tools. Their names are Tariq (known to you) and Hakeem also known to you. Send help.
Thanks. Stay safe.
The EOPD Web Site is very well laid out. I love the graphics, and everything about it! I'm currently working on Mountain Cop .com, and this website has been a role-model for it. Thank you EOPD!
Hi there! I am the project manager for a calendar project. We are looking for men in uniform (Cops, Firefighters, Doctors, Military, EMTs, etc) to pose in our 2003 American Heroes Calendar. Open to all active duty men in uniform over the age of 18 years old. The format is classy and tastefully sexy, no nudity and no porn. This is a non-profit venture with all proceeds being donated to the families of American service men and women killed because of the war in Afghanistan. Millions of $$ have been donated for the WTC 9/11 fund, we want to help out the families of the men and women trying to protect our freedom and kick ass on our enemies...can you tell I'm pissed off! Anyway, please check out the website and don't be shy. We will be in the NYC area for
photo shoots in May so contact us ASAP. In addition, we need financial support to help defray the printing and production costs. All donations will be appreciated and acknowledged on the website. Our Federal non profit permit 50
When I came home we had two of those guys who wear wraps on their heads similar to
Arabs hanging in front of our building. They were asked to leave since they did not live in our building. They went across the street to 169 South Clinton St. and around the back. We are seeing a build up in the traffic going behind 169 S. Clinton and the dump next to it. We are also find more drug items in the rear of our yard. Now we are finding needles. I have asked the super to put these items along with the crack vials but to no avail. Would you guys keep a check on this building and the houses across the street. I went in the rear of 169 and found the door leading to the basement open. Thank you.
There is a woman named
"Chocolate" who hangs in front of the Victory Liquor store on Central Ave., near South Burnett Street who is selling "weed" and yesterday she sold some to two 12 year old kids. The kids parents are in an uproar about this and plan on doing something what I do not know. We know for a fact she did sell this weed to these boys because someone was looking at her at the time. We have dealers on the corner of South Clinton and Central Avenue in front of the Pizza store, the
Puerto
I just passed through Amherst St. and Central Ave. and the drug dealers were out in force. They had cars pulling up and picking up their drugs. They checking around to make sure you guys were no where in sight. They were on the opposite side of Amherst across the street
from the laundry mat.
Please send some cars down to South Clinton Street and Central Avenue to clean up the drug selling trash. They are out there in droves. One girl passed me as I came from the store and made some crude comments about a girl she was looking to kick her ass if she found out she slept with her
boyfriend and the drug dealers are at the Chinese restaurant and on Elmhurst. They now have women and young girls who stand in front of the laundry on the corner of Amherst and Central to sell drugs. They are also
Please clean up the corner of South Clinton St. and Central Ave. There are about 10 Knuckleheads with the main dealer (the
Jamaican with the gold or silver tooth) hanging on the corner calling people names and being as stupid as they are everyday of their stupid lives. We have a drug dealer (new) in apartment B3 at 170 South Clinton St. He is short and balding, dark skinned and stupid looking.
Thanks. Keep up the good work.
After some soul searching came to the conclusion I was a bit harsh with my last comment. Police officers are only human and deserve some respect.
Possibly this individual was suffering from some form of mental illness he contracted through the years.
Just opened a new website store catering to security professionals. Please let me know if you would like to see anything added to the store.
Thank you.
I served as an Auxiliary Police Officer
for one year. It was an exceptional experience in many ways. I would like to thank The East Orange Police Department for the opportunity to serve in that capacity.
